We have lots of mutual friends so we had known each other, or at least known of each other, for quite some time. We never really spent much time together until some friends who were apparently trying to set us up took me over to his house one night "just to stop by and say hi." Little did I know that was just the introduction we needed because we had our first date shortly after and have been inseparable ever since. If you would have told me this is where we would be a couple years ago, I never would have believed you but I could not be happier. I cannot wait to marry the love of my life surrounded by all of our family and friends!

John had been planning the proposal for months. He had known since November that he wanted to propose in Hawaii. So we were finally in Hawaii, he had the ring, and in typical John fashion he hadn't decided when or how he was going to actually pop the question. Luckily, one of our friends stepped in and said why don't we plan on going down to the beach for pictures befofe we go to brunch. John agreed, but nobody told me we were going to take pictures. I was rather confused when we all got ready and everyone started walking to the beach. Everyone took their pictures and when it was our turn, I should have noticed how everyone was watching us with their phones ready to go, but I didn't. We took our picture and I said "are we good?" and started to walk away. John was struggling to get the ring out of his pocket and when he finally did he said "babe." I turned around to see him getting down on one knee! I was so shocked I don't think I could even speak to say yes when he asked me to marry him so I just nodded my head. That was by far one of the most perfect moments of my life. Especially because we got to turn around and be congratulated by friends and family. Thank you to everyone that helped John keep it all a secret and celebrated with us! We are so incredibly blessed with wonderful, supportive family and friends!
