I always hate saying this, but we met on Bumble. Though we met during the pandemic, that was really the only way to meet others during that time. We instantly connected as he caught me with his sense of humor, and we had much in common. The conversations continued until we decided to meet in person and have dinner at one of my favorite restaurants Aspen Creek. We talked for hours, and then on October 3, 2020, he asked me to be his girlfriend. From the first day to now, our love continues to grow deeper.
I came home late on that Friday evening not realizing what was about to happen. Though everyone besides myself knew this was coming and kept it a secret from me. I pulled into our driveway and saw items on our front door. "Are you ready for forever?” the note said on an old piece of Jarett’s college homework, with photos of us surrounding it. Opening the door there was a walkway layered in rose petals on the floor and candles and balloons leading straight to Jarett. There he was in the middle of a heart made of rose petals and balloons behind him with "Will You Marry Me?" up. I walked over to him and that's when he asked me that question and of course, I said yes. Realizing there was a video camera recording the whole process, definitely made my reaction interesting. As that video will always be a prized possession now. The night ended perfectly with my matron of honor Shelbie popping up from behind the couch scaring me and eating Papa Johns's. Though both of these stories are condensed versions, so hearing them from us in person is definitely more enjoyable.
