Before they met, love at first sight was only something you read about in books. The day was the January 1, 2020 and it could have been Megan's bright smile or Jake's contagious personality, but the two hit it off immediately. At the end of the night before Megan left the party, Jake left her with a Maga Trucking & Repair business card. The next day after hearing Megan's recap of the night before, Tim Connors fired off a text to Jake and he quickly arrived for breakfast. Breakfast then turned into dinner even though Megan swore to her mom she would be home "no later than noon." The two of them sat at the Connors' kitchen counter talking about everything from sports and trips to Paris all the way to Rubik's cube strategy. Ultimately Megan couldn't stay in Winnemucca forever (so she thought) and she headed back to Fallon. In typical twenty-somethings fashion Megan and Jake texted that whole next day. That evening Jake was "on a secret mission" that Megan didn't think twice about until she was home alone with her brother, Sean, and the doorbell rang. If you know anything about the McCormick house, no one ever uses the front door and there was no way Sean was going to get up from the couch to get the door. When Megan opened the door she was shocked to see Jake standing there, with a smile on his face and the most beautiful bouquet of flowers she had ever seen. (Thank you Second Street Seasonals.) Attached to the flowers was a card and in George Strait fashion, a check yes or no box was written below "Dinner?" Megan obviously said YES to dinner and the rest is history.
