How we Met

July 16, 2017

We met at Johnny Holms in Geneva. After a fun night of dancing for Me (Megan) and quite a few drinks for both- My friend, Sara, went to “get back at me” and set me up with someone since I had tried to do that to her earlier in the night. It ended up being Jake, and we just clicked. Despite what Jake’s best friend, Jack says, we sat talking outside the bar for awhile after it closed and Jake’s friends left without him. Jack ended up feeling bad and coming back for him eventually, but we will never let him forget when he left Jake at the bar that night. Jake and I exchanged numbers and continued getting to know eachother for about a month when we decided to go on our first date. When we were talking it became incredibly evident that we had some undeniable connection. Sometimes we would be on the phone and look at the time and realize that an hour or more had went by even though it felt like 5 minutes! If you know Jake, that is huge as he hates talking on the phone! We officially started dating on November 4, 2017. From then to now we have had many amazing adventures together! We are both very family oriented and blessed with 2 amazing families and many great friends that keep us busy.

Our Engagement

May 28, 2019

I came home from work and working out to Jake making supper, dessert, bread- the whole works. We sat down and ate and talked about our day like any other evening. Honestly there wasn’t anything out of the ordinary that I noticed. After we finished eating he said he needed to blow his nose (lol) and went to the bathroom. He came out and cornered me- trying to clean up the dishes. He told me multiple times how much he loved me. Then he told me “I love you so much I want to spend the rest of my life with you” he got down on one knee and the dog started jumping all over him. Of course- I said yes and hugged him-not even looking at the ring. I was so surprised in that moment and so happy. It was absolutely perfect! I’ve never loved him more and I am so blessed to have someone who makes me feel so loved to spend the rest of my life with. We are so excited to share our day with all of you!
