The year was 2008 and we were tragically cool. As are most 14 year olds. We became friends while sharing headphones on our walks back to Glover from the math class we both took at the high school. There were many mornings spent laughing and sharing new music we’d found. Those are my earliest memories of him. Painted in the fresh and bright shades of youth and chilly morning walks. However, Jacob claims that the first clear memory he has of me is from an 80’s themed mixer in 7th grade. I had on a hot pink shirt, leg warmers, and lots of blue eye shadow so, obviously, it was love at first sight. Ours was a love that grew out of a true and wonderful friendship. We started dating our junior year of high school and have been growing together ever since. - Megan
I had never been so nervous about yet completely resolved in a decision in my entire life. You might think that proposals are all about that moment that lives infinitely while down on one knee, but it carries so much more. I knew that I wanted to ask Megan to be my wife on the Cliffs of Moher, in Ireland. That just so happened to be 7 days into our trip. After smuggling the ring through the airport and traversing Ireland with countless anxiety attacks about possible discovery of the ring, the day had finally come. And it was the only rainy day in 14 days of travel. I had to practically drag Megan up to the spot where I had planned the proposal, as it sat a few hundred feet above the ocean. The moment I got down on one knee and looked up into her shocked expression, everything I had planned to say escaped me in the best way. I felt calm, and the only words I could reach for were genuine. I couldn't tell you exactly what was said after I knelt. All I know is she said "yes". After we stepped back onto the trail teary eyed, we were approached by a local irish gentlemen and his daughter who took our photo while I was down on one knee. Even though it felt like we were alone on that cliff, I am glad that this moment was captured for us. -Jacob
