Although we grew up less than 30 miles apart and graduated from colleges that were even closer, our paths didn't cross until 2017. We don't ever openly tell people we met on a dating app, but that's how it all started. Interestingly enough, Jack's name online was 'Ryan' even though the 'about me' section said 'Hi, my name is Jack'. Megan's friends (bridesmaids Jaclyn, Jessica & Emily) were CONVINCED Jack had a multi-personality disorder. Luckily for Jack, Megan still showed up for their first date at The Crush House. Needless to say, we shut the place down and Megan left with endless texts from her friends ensuring she didn't get kidnapped. We spent the next 5 out of 7 days together & the rest is history!
On Easter 2019, we chose to spend the day in our new house together. Prior to making one of the first of MANY trips to Lowe's together, Jack had walked into our kitchen stating that he had made an Easter basket... as if that wasn't a dead giveaway! However, Megan opened (well, shook, then opened) each and every egg, but only found her favorite chocolates. She looked up at Jack and said, "that's it?". Jack then explains that there's another layer of eggs under the grass. Once the layer of grass was lifted, there was the Thom Duma box... the same jeweler that Megan's dad has gotten all her mom's jewelry. If it says anything about us as a couple, we immediately followed up the proposal with the trip to Lowe's and hot dogs for dinner!
