Our Story

We love how we met…we just don’t quite agree on how it happened. So I guess you’ll have to hear both sides and decide for yourself what really happened. We met in the wild (no apps), at our friend Lizzie’s Halloween party. Isaac: At the party I looked up and saw this beautiful girl and thought, I gotta go talk to her. Only red flag, she was dressed like a cat. Megan: I was dressed up as a Lion! Isaac: Looked Like a cat… Megan: Isaac was dressed as Cedric Digory and we were in a group of people all talking together. Isaac: I boldly walked up to her and we started talking… Megan: The group of people slowly broke up and we ended up talking kinda naturally. Isaac: We talked for 30 minutes and I was as charming as humanly possible. Megan: He very romantically told me a lot of embarrassing stories that made me laugh and it felt like we talked for a couple hours. Isaac: We talked for maybe 30 minutes. But, it was so much fun and she was so easy to talk to I wished it was a couple hours. I knew I had to ask for her number, but when I went to find her again she was gone. Megan: I lost track of time and had to leave early as I had to work the next day. I drove home wishing I had gotten his number (or remembered his name). Isaac: I went home trying to remember her name. It definitely started with an M…Or was it an N? Megan: Lucky for both of us, we got invited to the same Friendsgiving party a few weeks later. Isaac: I was not going to make the same mistake twice and made sure to walk right up to her and ask for her number. Megan: Haha yeah, you asked for my number to see if I wanted to come to a group “game night” Isaac: …. well it worked didn’t it? Megan: Sure, but I actually asked you out first. The next day I texted him to see if he wanted to get drinks at a bar in my neighborhood called Spilt Milk. Isaac: Hey! I was about to ask you out. I was just overthinking where we should go! So when she mentioned Spilt Milk I quickly agreed to meet up the next day and this time we (actually) talked for hours. So, while we may remember how it happened a little differently, we’re both so grateful for the way our paths crossed and God led us to each other. Since then, the last two years have flown by. Full of many more happy coincidences, funny stories, adventures and long ice cream walks with Sammy in Chicago. All of this led up to August 2, 2025, in a field of sunflowers at sunset, where we got engaged (Isaac did the asking this time). We are so excited to celebrate with all of you and make a memory we can all share together. Thanks for reading and we hope to see you there!
