It’s finally happening!

As many of you know I love to travel. I planned a trip to see my bestie, Esther, in Frankfurt, Germany in November 2018. I knew I was going to have a week where her and her husband were going to be working so I wanted to adventure in a new city that I had never been to. I decided Portugal was the place (mainly because I found round trip flights for $39). About a month before traveling I decided I wanted to see if I could find someone to show me Lisbon so I popped onto a dating site and met Mavi. We talked for about a month before I got there and met in person on November 26, 2018. We had a great week together exploring Lisbon! It wasn't until I left that I felt something was a little bit different this time around. We messaged each other everyday and video called almost as much. He became my best friend. I never thought that I would find someone like him. He loves me for who I am and truly makes me feel appreciated every day. For many years I always expressed to my dad that I wanted to meet a man that loved me as much as he does, I finally found him. It wasn't until August 2019 that we were able to see each other again and this time I brought my friend Brittney with! This was the trip that solidified our relationship in knowing this is what we both wanted and we needed to start looking at what our future plans were. Over the next 2-months we discussed getting married, the immigration process, money, jobs, family, all the big things that were going to be challenges ahead. As daunting as it was we both knew it would be worth it in the long run. On Wednesday, November 27th, 2019 Mavi proposed to me in the streets of Lisbon where we first fell in love. I couldn't ask for a better man to be my partner in life, we can't wait to see what is in store for us.
