MEG: Hey! How do you pronounce your name? GJERT: Hey! It’s Gjert, like Yurt.

Our first date was at the White Squirrel [music] Bar in St. Paul, MN, after Bumble introduced us. The music left something to be desired so it’s amazing there was a second date. After the second date, Meg referred to Gjert as a “good egg” so it’s even more amazing there was a third date.

We were on a weekend getaway, just the two of us, in the middle of nowhere Wisconsin. It was beautiful weather and we were staying in a rustic cabin on a lake. We decided to take the paddle boat out and that’s where it happened: Gjert told Meg he was going to get behind her so she could take a better picture of them together. As she was taking the picture, he held up the ring. Meg started crying the happiest tears and immediately said yes!
