In Summer 2015, I had just moved to Richmond for grad school and was excited to explore my new city with a group a new girlfriends. George had a big group of guy friends who were having way too much fun to be bothered by looking for girls (e.g., George didn’t even bring his phone out the night we met and asked for my number...). We’d seen each other around town a few times through mutual friends, and one night we started talking to each other at the bar of District 5 (so romantic). You always find what you need when you’re not looking - and for us, the connection was instant and we’ve been together ever since! Fast forward to October 2019, and George and I were at Holden Beach with his family. He pulled off the biggest, sweetest surprise of my whole life when he proposed to me on the beach one evening! As another surprise, when we walked back into the beach house my mom and brother were standing there with George’s family! Our families greeted us with champagne glasses ready to toast, and the night was an absolute blast! Nothing says engagement quite like flip cup and moonshine. After countless road trips to Kentucky and NC, George moving me into 4 different houses (sorry), getting a cat and becoming entirely obsessed, and weathering through many seasons of ACC basketball rivalry, we are so excited for this next chapter of life together! We cannot wait to have all of our favorite people with us to celebrate the beginning of our marriage!
