Tips and Tricks: Local Travel

- There is a FACEBOOK GROUP that we are using to reply to common questions regarding the wedding and to organize logistics: https://www.facebook.com/groups/837687529932969/ - This is the website that you can use to explore and book trains to move around Italy: http://www.trenitalia.it It defaults to Italian but you can change the language to English. - Keep in mind that there is no Uber. You can book a Uber Black but you need to do so at least one week in advance and it's pricey. - The owner of the villa is renting us some shuttles from Milan to Viggiu' and from Viggiu' to Como, please let us know if you need to join us.

Explore Milan!

10:00 am

We will travel in Milan for a day of exploring Gabriele's hometown! Here's must see places in Milan: Arco Della Pace, Castello Sforzesco, Piazza Duomo, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, Navigli.

Hike to Mt. Orsa

11:00 am

Casual Attire: Anything goes, from sundresses and sandals to jeans and tees.

We will go on a hike right next door to Villa Alceo at 11 a.m. the day before the wedding (June 28th). We will meet in the Viggiu' town center. There will be sandwiches and wine prepared for us. Please bring a light empty backpack if you have one! We will pack up the lunch and eat at the top of the mountain for our beautiful picnic. Details on the hike up to Monte Orsa: it is a very beautiful hike and the path starts at walking distance from the Villa. The total duration is about 3 hours round-trip and at the top there is a breathtaking view on lake Lugano. Wedding at Villa Alceo

Cocktail Attire: Wear cocktail dresses, dressy jumpsuits, and dark jackets and slacks.

Wedding Ceremoy, Aperitivo, Dinner under the moonlight and dance party to end of the evening! · 4:30 Welcome drinks · 5:30 Ceremony · 6:00 Aperitivo (happy hour) · 7:30 Dinner and speeches · 10:00 Dancing and celebrating It is best to book your Hotel/Airbnb within walking distance to Villa Alceo. The town of Viggiu is very small and does not have taxis. Keep this in mind when looking at hotels! The closest train station is Bisuschio-Viggiu' and it's a 5 mins drive away from the villa. Please let us know if you need to be picked up at the train station.

Lake Como Tour

10:00 am

We will take a van from Villa Alceo at 11 a.m. to the city of Como. We will briefly visit Como and then take the local "express ferry" to the city of Bellagio. Here we will walk around and explore as well. A handful of us will stay in Bellagio over night while the other group will take another ferry to the city of Lecco and take a train to Bergamo.
