FAQs

Question

Are Children Invited?

Answer

We love your little ones, but we have chosen to make our wedding celebrations adults-only. We hope this gives everyone the chance to enjoy a fun and relaxing time in Mexico. Thank you so much for understanding. We are so grateful you’ll be celebrating with us!

Question

Where is the Wedding exactly? Can we stay somewhere else?

Answer

Our wedding will take place at Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta, located at: Carretera a Barra de Navidad, Km. 3.5, Zona Hotelera Sur, 48390 Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico. Guests are welcome to stay anywhere that works best for them. The Romantic Zone (Zona Romántica) is only about a 5-minute Uber or taxi ride away and has many great hotels, rentals, and amazing restaurants. If you choose not to stay at the Hyatt Ziva, the resort requires a $115 USD day pass per person for the wedding day to access the beach and covering food/drinks for the day.

Question

What airport should we fly into?

Answer

Guests should fly into Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR) in Puerto Vallarta. The airport is approximately 20–25 minutes from the Hyatt Ziva. Uber and taxis are readily available at the airport, and transportation can also be arranged through the resort (though this option is typically more expensive). A typical Uber or taxi ride to the resort should cost no more than $30 USD or 500 pesos.

Question

Do we need pesos or U.S. dollars?

Answer

Both Mexican pesos and U.S. dollars are widely accepted in Puerto Vallarta, especially at resorts and in tourist areas. For convenience, many people bring small U.S. bills for tipping, though pesos work just as well. If you’d like to have pesos ahead of time, ordering through your bank is usually the easiest option. For example, ICCU allows you to preorder pesos up to a week before your trip. Typical tipping amounts at the resort: Bartenders: $1–$2 USD | 20–40 MXN per drink Servers (meals): $3–$5 USD | 60–100 MXN per meal Housekeeping: $3–$5 USD | 60–100 MXN per day Bell staff (luggage help): $2–$3 USD | 40–60 MXN per bag Tipping is always appreciated but not required. Most guests find that bringing around $100 USD in small bills (or roughly 1,000–2,000 MXN) is sufficient for the week.

Question

What should I wear for the wedding?

Answer

Our wedding will be beach formal. We recommend light, breathable fabrics with bright colors encouraged. Men: Linen pants with collared top would be great choice. The reception and ceremony will be taking place on the beach, you will want shoe wear for the beach and resort surfaces as they will likely be toasty. Please avoid shorts and hats!
