We met on my first day of work at my first internship in Pittsburgh. Dylan was a member of the full-time staff, (he had also once been an intern) and I had just joined the sales & partnerships team. Over the next few months, we spoke on occasion about our love for classic rock, but didn't start our real friendship until the Pittsburgh Marathon of 2018. After working the marathon together, we became immediate friends. We spent long periods of time at the front desk (where I was filling in for the summer) arguing over all things music and giving each other "homework" songs to listen to after hours. Fast-forward to the 2019 Pittsburgh Marathon when after some celebratory drinks and typical race weekend lack of sleep, I asked Dylan to go to a .38 Special concert with me on May 17th. Dylan immediately agreed and reminded me the next day to ensure that I had not forgotten. The day of the concert came and we decided we would go to dinner first and then go to the venue - both secretly hoping that it was a date but too nervous to acknowledge it to the other. We ended up staying out all night after the concert talking and have been together ever since that day. We still celebrate our anniversary as May 17th, 2019.

During an office summer break, we decided to go on a short trip to celebrate our week off. Dylan handled all the details and decided to surprise me with the location and the activities. We set out on the morning of June 30th to the Lake Erie shore in New York and began our trip with horseback riding at a nearby farm. After horseback riding, we went to see the Lake in the small beach-y town of Dunkirk where we ate seafood and had pina colada's over the water. The area has many popular wineries, so we decided to check one out on our way back toward the town of Westfield, NY where we were staying. After relaxing at the winery for a few hours we returned to Westfield and went for a walk on the beach where Dylan proposed right as the sun was setting over the lake.
