Dustin and I hardly knew each other and he invited me to go to Pennsylvania with him to pick up engine parts. Why I thought it was a good idea to cross the border with a stranger still boggles my mind. It's a good thing I didn't come back in parts. We listened to a lot of music and if you know Dustin, we listened to whole bunch of types of music. I made sure on that trip to make something very clear. Something that was a deal breaker with me. I told Dustin, if you don't like Eminem, that when we returned home I was out. As you can see, he clearly passed the test.

Dustin proposed to me on a small beach on Hope Bay. It was just after dinner we took the kids down to the beach to play in the sand. Our friend Kole brought his camera to take photos of the "sunset." Dustin asked me to take a photo with him, which should have been my first red flag. I still had NO idea at this point because I came down to the beach with frizzy cowgirl braids, a baggy sweater Beau probably threw up on and BRIGHT RED metallic workout tights. To be honest, I just embraced Dustin wanting a cute family photo. SO despite the physical eye sore Dustin had to witness. He decided to propose anyway! After the initial shock, tears, asking if this is really happening (I was a "tiny tiny bit" under the influence) and saying yes! I continued to cry and said "but I'm wearing red pants..." as Kole was to my left taking photos of us. Dustin to this day told me he tried to indirectly warn me and asked me if that's what I wanted to wear. We were in complete vacation mode, going down to the beach, after eating a large dinner, and a few puff puffs, so yes, I opted for the extremely stretchy red metallic tights. Needless to say Dustin's heart and efforts were there, but I botched those Pinterest perfect proposal photos. haha
