All the way back in 2010, Meg would go visit her friend Abbie at Illinois State University. When she would go there, she would always see "Abbie's quiet friend, Derek". They talked a few times but the timing was never right. The stars didn't align for us until 2017. Meg was at Abbie's house with her friends Karina and Alex. They brought up how Derek is such a great guy and they should set us up. Meg agreed, got Derek's phone number, and they went out on a date. We clicked right away and pretty soon were hanging out 24/7. Fast forward to 2019 and Derek proposed to Meg in their apartment on their 2-year anniversary. They were stoked for their 2020 wedding. Then, COVID hit and all of their plans were thrown out the window. Meg and Derek decided to postpone for 7/3/2021- because there was no way COVID was going to be around longer than a few months, right? Wrong. They decided to postpone ~once again~ until 11/26/2022 so they could ensure everyone would be able to dance the night away without any restrictions. They got legally married in their backyard on 7/2/2021 with immediate family. They also found out that weekend that they were having a baby girl! So, was their timeline completely flipped upside down? Yes. House, wedding, baby, wedding reception... oh well! They are going with the flow and appreciate your flexibility and sticking it out for the past 3 years. It's been wild but they cannot wait to dance and celebrate with all of you!
