We're getting hitched!

Megan and Dan met playing 4-H softball back in 2007. They were introduced by Justin, who was in the same 4-H club as Megan, but went to the same high school as Dan. Dan caught Megan's eye and she then spent the next 2 summers trying to spend time with Dan, which did not pan out. Megan persistently kept inviting Dan to go get a milkshake, or check out fair exhibits, which did not work out. After Megan left her number on the windshield of his car during the fall of 2008, he finally called her and they set up their first date! The next few months were sporadic dates and unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be...or was it? After they drifted apart, Megan attended grad school in Duluth and then moved to Crookston, MN to work as an athletic trainer at UMC, and Dan joined the military and was stationed in El Paso, TX. They both eventually wound back up in Western WI and wouldn't ya know, Dan posted on Facebook about the Pierce County fair and caught Megan's eye once again. They met back up in August 2018 and rekindled their romance. Since then, they have been together and have enjoyed their journey together!

Some may have heard the story of how Megan and Dan got engaged, but there's a little bit more of background information that's needed. On February 14th, 2020 Megan was meeting Dan for romantic Valentine's date of Chinese food. She was putting her jacket away when she saw a ring box sitting on Dan's bookshelf. Of course she was excited, but unknown to her at the time was that Dan had this ring for a few months now. Megan of course was excited but didn't want to spoil Dan's plans, so she waited and waited. For 6 months she waited for Dan to propose! Along the way, she told some friends and eventually those friends started asking Dan when he was finally going to propose. On August 22nd, 2020 the couple was going to Farm to Fist to check out what Greg and Kaaren were doing with the wedding venue. Dan waited for a cue so he could pop the question, but it didn't come until they were in the car. Dan wanted to talk wedding dates, Megan was frustrated and said "something needed to happen before they could talk wedding dates!" That's when Dan asked- after Megan stopped laughing at his proposal style she said "it's about time!"
