In late August of 2018, Megan and Corey crossed paths for the first time at Cheers Irish Pub in Lisbon, Portugal. Megan had just gotten her wings and was a Flight Attendant for American Airlines based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. One of the BEST perks of being a Flight Attendant was that on your days off, you get to fly for free. Megan and her friends were fully taking advantage of this at the time, to the point where Megan's parents were never quite sure what country she was in at any given time. So when one of her friends saw some open seats to Lisbon for the weekend and asked if she wanted to go, the answer was "Yes!". Corey was living in Atlanta, Georgia at the time and was traveling Europe with his friend, Dan. They had gone to Spain and the last stop on their trip was Portugal. Corey and Dan just happened to walk by Cheers Irish Pub in the Bairro Alto neighborhood of Lisbon just as the Megan and her Flight Attendant friends were breaking it down on the dance floor. The boys made the executive decision that they needed to stop in and investigate. Corey and Megan got to talking and hit it off immediately. They met up for a few days afterwards in Portugal for dinner and drinks, and when it was time for everyone to head back home to the US, they continued keeping in touch and visiting each other. Corey would fly up to Philadelphia when Megan had a weekend off, and Megan would always try to get as many Atlanta layovers as possible so they could sneak in date nights. In 2020 during lockdown, Megan took a break from flying and spent the summer in Atlanta. Soon after, Megan and Corey decided to move to Austin together to finally be in the same city. For the past few years they've been eating, laughing, and taking bucket list trips- including an April 2024 trip to Mexico City where Corey proposed in Plaza Santa Catarina, marking the beginning of their Happily Ever After!
