Our Story

Megan and Clay met in Indiana, through mutual roommates (Megan’s roommate was dating Clay’s roommate), in February of 2014. That April, Megan’s friend asked, “How’s your boyfriend?”. Clay asked Megan what her response was, to which Megan replied, “I don’t have a boyfriend”. They *officially* started dating that night. Megan graduated Valparaiso University in May of 2015, and they continued to see each other at least every other week that summer. In August of 2015, Clay accepted a job in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, and began to plan his move to Illinois. On October 1st, 2015 Clay moved to Schaumburg, Illinois, where they have lived until buying their first house together in April of 2021 (they now live in Palatine). In December of 2017, Clay proposed to Megan in their apartment, with her sisters and closest friends hiding in the bedroom/bathroom. When discussing wedding venues, the first place they wanted to look was County Line Apple Orchard. Since the beginning of their relationship, Megan and Clay have upheld the tradition of going apple picking at County Line on opening weekend for the Bears. Once they toured County Line as a wedding venue, they were sold on it, and booked their date. Due to the unforeseen circumstances of 2020, we ended up getting married in an intimate ceremony in front of Megan grandpa's memorial tree at Fox Run Golf Links. We hope you can join us in our long awaited celebration of our marriage at our vow renewal ceremony.
