FAQs

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes! We request that guests are in formal attire for our wedding. For gentlemen, we recommend a suit and tie. For ladies, we recommend a floor-length gown or formal cocktail dress. Most importantly, we kindly ask you dress respectfully for a Catholic mass.

Question

Is there parking for the reception?

Answer

Yes, Hunt Valley Country Club has ample parking that you are welcome to use. We will provide a shuttle service for those staying in the hotel block. If you are not staying at the hotel and plan on drinking, we highly recommend having a designated driver or using a ride-sharing app.

Question

What should I do in-between the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Guests staying in our hotel block may check in and get settled until the shuttle arrives to bring you to Hunt Valley Country Club. For those who are still looking for things to do, we recommend one of our favorite breweries, Independent Brewing Company (418 N Main Street Bel Air, MD 21014) or getting a quick bite at Sunshine Grille (12607 Fork Road Fork, MD 21051)!

Question

What should I expect from the Nuptial Mass?

Answer

As guests and attendees of our wedding, we invite you to participate in the Mass and witness to our love in this beautiful sacrament. The Catholic liturgy is a way to honor the sacrifice Jesus made for each and every one of us on the cross. The mass will be approximately one hour and is composed of two main parts: the Liturgy of the Word and Liturgy of the Eucharist. In the first half of Mass, we will hear scripture from the Old Testament, New Testament and the Gospel, followed by a reflection and commentary on the Word and the sacrament of holy matrimony (called a homily, given by the priest). Following the homily the rite of marriage will take place, including exchanging of vows and rings. Then, in the Liturgy of the Eucharist, the priest offers “the bread and wine, [and] the substance of our lives and joins them to Christ's perfect sacrifice, offering them to the Father”(USCCB), and distributes communion–the Eucharist–to the congregation.
