Our story began in late 1999, at a Wells Fargo Bank in Montclair, CA. As Celso tells it, he was wheeling a hand truck full of coin into the banks vault and when he saw my smile behind the counter, he crashed the truck into the wall. He jokes that he heard the song "dream weaver" playing in the background...as my hair blew in slow motion. At which point he was in love. I remember a super cute, shy guy, who clearly had a crush. and how much I enjoyed watching him blush every time I'd say hello or even just look his way. Well, one day he finally worked up enough nerve, and brought me a beautiful basket of flowers, with my favorite Stargazer Lilly's. After which he asked me to a San Jose Shark's hockey game, which turned out to be a date to remember. At which point I was in love. But youth caused us to make decisions that lead us to taking separate paths and ultimately lose contact. Fast forward to Jan 1, 2011 when I found Celso on Facebook and sent him a message. We both know from that contact that this was meant to be. Plenty of trials and tribulations have given us much to fight for, but through it all we know, we are soulmates. We want to make this relationship last for always, and what better way to do so then to have the blessing of our family and friends. To share with us a day that will be forever in our hearts. We hope you all can make the time to come and spend this day with us. It would truly make our union complete.
In typical Celso fashion, he could hardly contain himself. He was so consumed with planning the right scene, the right words and a basically a "perfect proposal". The night came that he couldn't wait any longer, and he decided to go to the store and buy all the ingredients for a delicious steak dinner, for us and the girls. He asked me to help him cook (he's not much for cooking- but he really did try and do it all), the whole time I kept trying to guess when he would do it.... After dinner as we are cleaning up, he walks into the bedroom and starts to fumbles around in his dresser drawer. As I come over to be nosey, he pulls out the ring box, and asks if I want to see it.... In walks Emma who yells (if you know Emma - she can yell), tells him to stop that it's not supposed to go this way, and to put it away. She then makes him change his shirt (so she can video the event), tells me to go to the couch, and has him come out and kneel....and ask me to be his wife. It was beautiful. And the humor of it, fit our family perfectly.
