Castillo San Felipe del Morro

Take a tour of El Morro, which served as an active U.S. military base during the two World Wars. 400 years prior, it was designed and built by the Spaniards to fight wooden sailing ships.

Castillo San Cristóbal

Take a tour of this fort! The attacks by the English in 1598 and the Dutch in 1625 forced the Spaniards to expand the fortification system of San Juan. Considered the largest fortress built in the Americas, it was built for the purpose of protecting the city of San Juan from attack by land from the east. It is a fortification with three levels and an extensive series of outer defenses which took over 150 years to complete.

A place to get all the tastiest fried street foods! Relleno de Papa - Potato ball stuffed with seasoned meat. Alcapurria (Megan's Favorite) - A fried starchy mashed vegetable (yucca or green plantain) stuffed with a seasoned ground meat. Empanadas - Savory pastry that comes stuffed with all sorts of things. Comes in many flavors. Piononos - Sweet yellow plantains stuffed with a seasoned ground meat and cheese. Pinchos - Meat skewers (usually pork or chicken) Bacalaitos - Salted codfish fritter Tostones - Slices of green plantains that are smashed and fried. Green plantains = savory Yellow plantains = sweet Plantains do not taste like bananas! All items are served with Mayo-Ketchup (Trust us, it's delicious - Island staple!)
