We met working for Ralph Lauren at the US Open in Queens, New York. After the US Open had ended, we had our first conversation over burritos and margaritas with a few other Ralph Lauren employees. We realized we were both Nebraska Cornhusker fans pursuing musical theatre in The Big Apple. Bryce asked Megan to grab a cup of coffee. Sparks flew. We saw each other four times in that first week, and have spent very little time apart from each other since our first date.
Bryce was acting like a weirdo. Megan knew something was up. Bryce took Megan on a picnic to Prospect Park. He intricately laid out a cheese and meat board, leaving a conspicuous hole in the center of the board. He turned his back to add the finishing touch, a ring, and turned around and presented the finished cheese board to Megan. Megan cried, said yes, and ate a bunch of cheese in celebration while Micah and John were hiding in the bushes taking photos and videos. We went out to a fancy restaurant that afternoon, and finished the night celebrating with all our closest friends at our apartment. It was literally a perfect day.
We just couldn't wait until June to be married! Bryce and I decided to get legally married over Christmas break in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota with our immediate family in attendance. It was such a special day that we will cherish forever. Bryce's father, Wade, officiated at Cormorant Lutheran Church and afterwards, we ordered takeout from a local restaurant and spent time around Wade and Holly's dining room table laughing and telling stories.
