While we have not reserved a specific hotel block, we recommend guests stay in hotels or Airbnbs around Charlotte. There are so many fun pockets of town, you really can't go wrong- but we've summarized our favorite areas below: - Uptown: if you want to be in the middle of everything! About 15 minutes from the venue, it will be the perfect time of year to catch a Panthers or Hornets game. The Dunhill and Le Meridien are our favorite hotels uptown. - South End/NoDa: the most vibrant, trendy neighborhoods in Charlotte, known for restaurants, bars, and shops. The areas are home to several craft breweries, and the Light Rail. South End is ~20 minutes from the venue, while NoDa is more like ~10. We will likely go out in one of these places after the wedding! - Southpark/Ballantyne: the area where we live, more like ~30 minutes from the venue. These are more suburban neighborhoods in Charlotte, known for luxury shopping and dining options. The welcome party will be at our house in this area, the night before the wedding. - University: the area where Megan grew up! Close to the venue (10-15 minutes), and features a variety of restaurants, shops, and entertainment options, including the Boardwalk UNCC's greenway.
There is no real dress code, but we recommend semi-formal (cocktail dresses and jumpsuits, suits and ties, etc). The wedding will be at 11:00 am in late October, so be prepared for the fact that it might be chilly!
Yes! There will be ample on-site complimentary parking for all guests. If you have specific questions about the venue, their FAQ site is here: https://alexanderhomestead.com/frequently-asked-questions/

The wedding is outdoors, and the reception will take place in a barn with open doors. The contingency plan in case of rain is to have the ceremony in the barn with doors closed!
Please see the "schedule" tab of our website for all schedule details!
There is plenty of free parking at the venue, if you are planning on drinking we encourage you to take a rideshare (Uber/Lyft). However, cars cannot be left at the venue overnight.
Yes! There will be a variety of beer and wine available, as well as non-alcoholic options.
While in Charlotte for the wedding, we hope you also explore the city! Some of our favorites include: The U.S. National Whitewater Center offers whitewater rafting, kayaking, zip-lining, hiking, and biking trails, as well as seasonal events and festivals. Charlotte has a vibrant craft beer scene, with popular breweries like Wooden Robot, Legion Brewing, and Sycamore Brewing offering tastings and tours. Head to nearby Lake Norman or Lake Wylie for boating, hiking, and picnicking, perfect for a relaxing day outdoors.
