Brendan was Megan's coach for pyramid, a Greek week event at Case Western that involves crawling through mud to build a human pyramid, during the spring semester of 2015. Although they didn't talk much then, they reconnected at a rugby game and CWRU's Springfest later that year, where their friends brought them together.

Brendan and Megan went with two friends to Virginia for a mini-vacation in the spring of 2021. After hiking up a mountain in Shenandoah National Park, they went to a few wineries and explored the area. Megan thought Brendan was too risk-averse to bring a ring across state lines, so she was shocked when he proposed on a hill overlooking the Virginia landscape. Shout out to Melissa and Ryan who helped plan and capture the moment!
