Our story has not been a traditional one by any means. We met for the first time in Mrs. Schlapak's 3rd grade class in 2005. We bonded over reading Captain Underpants books and creating comics. Since 3rd grade, we came close to being together three different times. One of the most memorable times was in high school, we both were crowned best nickname. Meggo and Bmad posing together for the 2013 yearbook photo. It wasn't until 2017 when we reconnected again, finding each other at the gym. July 18th of that year, we became a couple. Not soon after, we found out that Brendan was to be deployed to Southeast Asia for a year. As we discussed marriage before the deployment, it was clear that marriage was not an option. But then on Christmas Eve of 2018, a surprise, we got engaged. Due to military protocols, we were legally married on April 13th, 2019 months before his deployment. The goal was to have a traditional wedding ceremony upon his return in 2020. We planned a wedding for July 18th, 2020 with the ceremony at Prescott Park & the reception at Mombo. With the coronavirus emerging and the sudden, tragic passing of the venue's owner, we had to cancel our wedding. Three years later, we finally get to celebrate with our family and friends.
