We met literally in the street. I was with one of my Matrons of Honor, Maggie, and her husband, Chris Szutz. We were enjoying a Jazz Festival in Federal Hill, Maryland, a neighborhood in South Baltimore. Let's be honest, we were just there to be outside and drink some beers. As we walked around, I saw this large red-bearded man (who turned out to be Chris Canti) and his giant gray dog. I had seen the dog before on St. Patrick's Day and knew he was friendly. I ran over to pet him, as well as several others, and couldn't have been happier...until suddenly a shadow fell over me. It was early in the month and later in the day, so if you weren't in direct sunlight, you were cold. I looked up and started to stand up to say, "You're blocking my sun!," but instead said, "You're blocking my...sun...ummm...hello, I'm Megan, what's your name?" The moment feels like slow motion in my mind, because as I rose up from the ground, my annoyance turned into realization that this shadow-giver was a very tall, very attractive man, with beautiful blue eyes. He was also a man of few words, so I proceeded to ask him 500 questions unabashed (earning the nick name 20 Questions for a bit). Almost four years later to the day, we will be married...and we have our own little dog all to ourselves :)
