Andrew and I met on an online dating app, we both swiped right and then I had to make the first move which was on St. Patricks day. We sent texts back and forth for about a week and found it easy to talk to one another. I was on spring break and Andrew sent me a message asking if I wanted to go out for a boat day the next day. My first response was you are complete stranger who I had not met, nor spoken to on the phone, it's probably not the best idea. But.....it was spring break and I was still new to Florida and not much going on so I figured why not. Andrew did call me that night and we talked for an hour and half on the phone. I figured if we could chat on the phone I could enjoy myself on the boat for the day. That morning I was so nervous, I was the first to arrive and then Andrew pulled up with a friend...wearing a tie dye shirt and large straw hat and there was no boat. My first thought was he is cute but I should probably go. They assured me the boat was coming. ( I later learned boat days never were never on a schedule) :) It was the best day, we laughed and had a great time tubing, swimming and just relaxing. I stayed on the boat until the sun went down and once we got back to the dock, we decided we didn't want the day to end and went to dinner just the 2 of us. Conversation was so easy and it just felt right. That was the first of many boat days and dates. And our fist and last first dates. This past summer we made our yearly visit to Andrew's family lake house. It is our favorite place to be and this year was special because both Andrew's parents and my parents and my sister were all there. My Dad, sister, Andrew and I all took a boat ride on the morning of July 7th. We were in front of our favorite spots on the lake and Andrew asked me to sit on his lap, little did I know he had the most beautiful ring sitting on the dash of the boat and then asked me to marry him. We can't wait to spend our lives together and celebrate on June 15th, 2019.
