On a sunny summer day in 2017, fate worked its magic, bringing Adam and Megan together in the most unexpected way. Adam had sent in his resume during a mid-June morning with the plan to work a humble job for a few months to help pay his tuition. Little did he know, this job would change his life forever. As Adam’s resume worked its way through the system, a couple of weeks passed. On the day they were destined to meet, Megan began her morning with her usual routine: grabbing an iced cappuccino and opening her store at 7 AM. It was a busy day filled with back-to-back interviews, and she had no idea she was about to meet the love of her life. Meanwhile, Adam was in the middle of an intense basketball game with his friends—Steve, TJ, and Chris—when he got the call for his interview. After a spectacular dunk, he dashed off to the interview, wearing his blue flip-flops, tan shorts, and a turquoise button up shirt. When Adam walked in and saw Megan, he was instantly captivated. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen and so intelligent. And, despite her busy day, Megan was struck by Adam’s confidence and presence. Still on a caffeine buzz, she quickly led Adam to the interview room, and he had to hustle to keep up with her, despite his much longer legs. Megan jokes that it felt more like Adam was interviewing her rather than the other way around. The interview went amazingly well, and Adam felt a strong connection with Megan, unlike anything he had felt before. As time passed, the foundations of life shifted in both Adam and Megan’s favour and they decided to start a relationship together. With time, their bond grew stronger and they moved into their first apartment on Bear Mountain. In their cozy new home, they enjoyed swimming in the outdoor pool and hot tub, and on snowy nights, they would turn the bed around to watch the snowflakes fall as they drifted off to sleep in each other’s arms. The next year, they moved closer to UVic to support Adam’s studies and Megan’s pursuit of her psychology degree. Living near UVic was like a pressure cooker, testing their limits and solidifying their relationship. They grew incredibly close, learning about each other on a deep level, helping one another grow, and falling deeper in love. Through every challenge and pivot, they supported each other and came back stronger together. During a birthday dinner with their close friends, Jasmine and Isaac, Adam surprised Megan with a trip to Los Angeles. They went to Disneyland and bought matching Disney shirts. Adam made his first attempt to propose, but he had to hold off as the Disney fireworks were canceled last minute. They visited Universal Studios and even ran with a cheetah at the San Diego Zoo. Yet, the most unforgettable moment was still to come. The following year, amidst the lush landscapes of Maui, Adam proposed to Megan on Turtle Beach, following a romantic sunset dinner at Merriman's. As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden glow across the sand, a sea turtle gracefully approached, adding an enchanting touch to their special moment. Megan's joyful ‘Yes!' echoed against the gentle surf, marking the beginning of their journey together. Overwhelmed with happiness, Adam was thrilled that everything about the proposal had unfolded perfectly. He had also secretly arranged a surprise engagement photo shoot, capturing the magic of their new beginning. Now, they reside in a beautiful home in Langford, close to their cherished circle of family and friends, continuing to support each other’s dreams and their boundless love.
