One summer afternoon, as Megan was interviewing for a job at a brand new Subway, Aaron walked through the door, to start his shift. She thought he looked familiar from HS but she turned back to her interview and landed the job. Quickly, a friendship formed between the two sandwich artists and then grew into an easy flirtation. The flirtation increased throughout their senior year and the two dated briefly until Megan headed off to NAU as a Freshman. Megan and Aaron remained friends throughout college and her stint in Park City, Utah. Despite the distance he visited her in both places, even risking it all by making the trek to PC during a snow storm. Aaron is a man of sweet gestures and sent her care packages including her favorite candies and Vampire Diaries, the book! In her own sweet gesture, Megan painted Aaron a custom cooler and after driving from PC to AZ, left it on his doorstop for him to find before jumping out to surprise him. This paved the way for their frequent pranks, or Güten Pränken. Let's fast forward to the spring of 2019... After a few years of a more low key friendship Megan friended Aaron on Instagram, to which he immediately texted a friend that he needed a beer. The friendship came flooding back at once; old habits die hard! As the New Year drew close, Megan convinced Aaron to hiking Tom's Thumb on Jan. 1, 2020. Aaron thought she was joking until she texted to confirm the day before. 'Thumbs up to a good year' was the Instagram caption! Then came March. Megan and Aaron began hanging out more often, what with all that extra time, often debating which Harry Potter movie is best. When Megan left his place one evening, she texted Aaron that her car was broken and needed his help (this was a lie). When Aaron finally realized her car was fine, Megan blurted out how she felt towards him, which Aaron reciprocated immediately. Fate rejoiced and persistence put another tally in the win section. Cue to the Pam and Jim GIF of them air high-fiving.
