Back in 2020 Megan was home for a few weeks from her whirlwind tour she had been working on. She was visiting two of her college friends (and bridesmaids) up in Green Bay who were planning to go to our friend Joe's 30th birthday party. Alec, a long time friend of Joe's, was also in town for the party. Megan and Alec connected at the bar following the party and chatted the night away. The next morning, Megan learned that Alec had asked for her number, though he never texted her. Two days later, we were both invited to join our friends Annie and Josh in Milwaukee for dinner and drinks before they flew out the next morning. After parting ways, Alec accidentally called Megan, which turned into a long line of text conversations that carried on. Megan was set to head off to Australia in a few weeks, but the two kept talking. She eventually hopped on a plane and departed the Midwest. She was hopeful, but not overly optimistic, that anything would come of all their conversation, as she would be half a world away for much of the spring/summer. A blessing in disguise, COVID brought her right back home within 24 hours of touching down in Australia. From there, the relationship continued to grow. On a trip to Hawaii in 2022, they decided to move in together later that year. After a year and a half in their Milwaukee apartment, they began their house hunt back around Madison and were shocked to get the first house they put an offer on. Within a month of moving into their house, Megan finally got the Golden Retriever she'd always wanted. Ollie has been the star of the family ever since. On their annual fall trip to Door County in October 2024, Alec popped the question at her grandma's cottage, which has always been a very special place. Not that she'd been waiting, but she was quick to say YES!" We're so excited for the next chapter and we are hopeful you'll be able to join us on our special day.
