It all started like any other modern-day romance when Mickey liked one of Megan’s pictures on Hinge. From the moment they matched, the conversation never stopped. They quickly realized they shared a love for football, cooking, and a good sense of humor, which came in handy almost immediately. Their first date was at Jerzees the day after they matched. Megan was running late after making a Target stop for a new outfit, but Mickey earned bonus points for his patience and for ordering a Coors Banquet, which Megan immediately approved of. After the usual first-date awkwardness faded, everything clicked when Mickey mentioned growing up watching Grease, which is famously Megan’s favorite guilty pleasure movie to sing along to. They talked for hours and only left because they felt bad for taking up the table. Since that night, there hasn’t been a single day without each other. Though they were once skeptics about the idea of soulmates, they now have no doubt they’ve found theirs. Their relationship has been full of little adventures and a lot of laughter. Every moment, big or small, has been better because they’ve shared it together. Megan is now an official Browns fan (who would've guessed?), Mickey has learned to appreciate Aggie football (even if it’s totally a cult), and together, they’re ready to start their greatest adventure yet as husband and wife.

In the summer of 2025, Megan and Mickey spent countless weekends paddleboarding and kayaking at Mogadore Reservoir, just down the road from Megan’s house. It became their little tradition to pack a cooler with sandwiches and spend a few peaceful hours on the water, with Mickey fishing, Megan reading, and both of them enjoying the pleasant Ohio summer days. They had talked about getting engaged before the end of the year, but Megan was completely shocked when it actually happened. Mickey proposed the day after her birthday at the reservoir, just as they were getting ready to spend the evening on the water. He had planned the timing perfectly, right before Megan had a trip home scheduled, so she wouldn’t have to wait months to celebrate with her family and friends. There was one funny hiccup in the plan. The day before, Mickey tried to plan a call with Megan’s dad to ask for his blessing, but they thought their work schedules wouldn’t line up to make the call happen. Only later that evening did they both realize they were in different time zones, so they actually could have made it work after all. The next day, as they were packing up to head to the reservoir, Megan walked outside to ask Mickey a question and thought he was on the phone with his mom. She froze when Mickey asked if she wanted to say hi to her dad. The entire drive to the reservoir, Megan tried to convince herself that Mickey must have been asking her dad something about his new kayak or fishing or that even if he had been asking for his blessing, the proposal definitely wasn’t happening anytime soon. She was wrong. While Megan was busy complaining about having to air up her paddleboard with the hand pump and waiting for Mickey to stop messing around with his fishing stuff so that he could take over the air pump duties, he was secretly getting the ring out of his tackle box. Megan had always wondered how she’d react in that moment and assumed she’d be a crying mess, but instead she just kept saying “shut up” over and over before finally saying yes! After getting over the initial shock, Megan asked how Mickey wanted to celebrate to which Mickey responded that they could still go fishing. He was wrong. They spent the rest of the evening calling and FaceTiming their friends and family before heading to dinner at Leo’s in Cuyahoga Falls, just the two of them. It was the perfect ending to the most unexpected and unforgettable day.
