We met on Bumble while we both lived in Indiana. We had lived an hour away from each other for a little over a year. After talking for two weeks on the phone, our schedules calmed down enough to go on a date. We met at a restaurant called The Bryant in West Lafayette, Indiana. We started spending every moment we could with each other. Finding time together wasn't the easiest thing to do. Michael was working very long hours at a restaurant in Lafayette, while Megan worked and attended graduate school. About three months after we met, we took a cute little trip to Chicago together. Adventuring is something we both LOVE to do and we knew that would definitely not be the last trip for us! Little did we know, two weeks later, Michael got a job offer in California and four months to the day after we met, Michael moved back across the country to California. We made plans and promises and compromises and apologies. The first year of our relationship, we navigated with 2720 miles between us. We balanced crazy schedules and made few trips to see each other. Long distance almost broke us, but we always saw the light at the end of the tunnel. On September 2nd, 2022, after graduating from graduate school, Megan moved across the country to be with Michael. Navigating a new state, thousands of miles away from everyone she knew, Megan and Michael had to learn how to depend on each other through everything. Truly learning what it meant to be everything to someone else. California brought its own set of challenges though and we did not stay there for long. In February 2023, Michael and Megan set forth on another journey no one ever anticipated. Moving to Oregon! With our dog and cat and a U-Haul and a snow storm, we trekked from Napa, California to Portland, Oregon where we have been ever since. We have been through so much together in the almost 4 years since we met. 4 residences. 3 cars. 2 states. 2 cats. 1 dog. We are so grateful for all that we have and everyone who has supported us in anyway along our journey together. We don't want to look at our wedding as the beginning of our joint life together. Instead, we choose to look at our wedding as a continuation of our beautiful story and a promise to always strive for more together.
