Established in 1681, it is known more significantly as one of the earliest Arts and Crafts utopian communities in America, founded by architect William Lightfoot Price in 1901. Furniture making, ceramics and book binding were produced where you are today. If you are interested in Arts and Crafts, be sure to check out the homes and historic buildings; there are 105 buildings, 7 sites, 10 structures on the National Register of Historic Places. You can see Thunderbird Lodge and The Hedgerow Theater on Rose Valley Road, very close to The Old Mill.
