As Adam likes to say, I have bottomless mimosas to thank for bringing Adam to a Diamondbacks spring training game instead of the Mariners game he was originally planning to go to with buddies. I noticed the flock of Griffey jerseys in the outfield and realized I "knew" one of them through being Facebook friends. And then, Adam's favorite part, I slid into the DMs and asked if it was him. The short version: I ended up meeting him and his friends out in Scottsdale that night and truly, the rest is history. We spent the rest of that weekend hanging out together. I remember getting on the plane at the end of the weekend, just so giddy, and thinking "I have a good feeling this guy will be in my life for quite awhile..." and not long after we started dating, I had an even greater feeling that he was absolutely who I was meant to spend my life with.
It couldn't have been more perfect. Adam had told me a few weeks prior that he got us dinner reservations at How To Cook A Wolf. I had an inkling it could be a proposal. A couple days before, he suggested we take a walk beforehand. We did this a lot, so I told myself to be cool... it probably wasn't what I thought it was. The day comes and I see that Adam is cool and collected all day so I decided I had overthought everything. We drove up to Queen Anne boulevard and got out and walked our usual stroll for a bit. As we came up to one of our favorite spots, I noticed a photographer. My heart started pounding... could it be?! We sat and talked for a little bit, and then he got up and as we looked out at the water talking about how lucky we were to have found each other... he got down on one knee. Easiest yes ever!! Adam said we had time to stop at my parents before dinner to tell them the news. To make this day even more perfect, Adam had both our families there to surprise and celebrate with us! It was truly magic and I was speechless and in shock most of the evening. This party is just getting started... December 30, 2022 can't come soon enough!
