Meg started working for Goodwill Industries of West Michigan as a job coach in July of 2021 with program participants at various job sites in the Holland/Zeeland community. This included Tony’s workplace at the time. After many lunches together, getting to know each other better, Tony asked Meg for her phone number. He quickly set up our first date, playing mini golf in Norton Shores and visiting Hoffmaster State Park. We’ve spent nearly every day together since. The never ending first date!
Ring Shopping After having looked at rings online for some time, Tony decided to shop at Peterson’s in his hometown Jackson, MI. His brother had luck shopping here, so Tony felt he would have the same. Tony sent photos to Meg to get her opinion on a few rings, but when he didn’t receive a response, he was left to decide for himself. The week went on, and Tony had the silver ring sitting in his office waiting to be worn. He asked Meg in person her opinion of the photos he had sent, her not knowing that he had already picked a ring. She talked on about how pretty the rose gold ring with intricate details was and told him that the one he had secretly picked was UGLY! Without her knowing, he took a trip back to Jackson to switch out the rings, making it an absolute surprise when he did propose. Proposal - July 29th 2023 It had been a long day of tubing out on the Rifle River and we were sat around the fire late at night with Tony’s cousin, Tyler, and his wife, Sara. Tony had Sara turn on “Bubble of my Gum” by DURRY to play for Meg, getting down on one knee, and proposing! Of course it didn’t quite go that smoothly, cell phone signal isn’t the best out in the woods lol, but it was ever so sweet!
