Despite growing up in Cleveland, Meg has actually never been here! Scott, on the other hand, has already checked it off his list. Whether you're a local who has been putting it off or a first-timer to the city, this is the perfect weekend to finally see why Cleveland is the capital of Rock & Roll.
Known for the quality and breadth of its collection, The Cleveland Museum of Art is one of the top comprehensive art museums in the nation. The museum is free to all visitors and located in University Circle, a neighborhood about 10 minutes east of downtown. Located within walking distance is also The Cleveland Botanical Gardens and The Cleveland Museum of Natural History.
If you get finished at the Art Museum and are feeling a little hungry, head 5 mins east to Little Italy! This is a vibrant neighborhood in Cleveland offering old-school Italian cafes, bakeries and pizzerias. Head into Mama Santa's for some pizza and then be sure to stop in Corbo's bakery for their famous cannoli.
This is a great place to take the family! Meghan has very fond memories of visiting the Great Lakes Science Center as a kid. Located along Lake Erie and a half mile walk from the Hilton, be sure to check this out if you are looking for some kid friendly interactive exhibits. They also have an I-Max movie theater if you are looking to stay out of the heat for a bit.
Located in Cleveland's beautiful Ohio City neighborhood and just one stop west on the RTA red line from Tower City, the West Side Market is Cleveland's oldest year round public market that highlights local produce, meats, bakeries, prepared foods and more.
The one and only. Located across the street from the West Side Market, this is a must visit for any beer enthusiast while in Cleveland! Pro Tip: head downstairs to the secret cellar to enjoy a brew or two!
When you are done trying beers at Great Lakes and need a sweet treat after, head down the street to Mitchell's! Meg and Scott both agree that it's ALMOST as good as Graeter's in Cincinnati. Try and compare and then let the bride and groom know which you think is better
Pedestrian only street located in the heart of downtown Cleveland full of restaurants, bars and more. Top recommendations from Meg and Scott include: Cordelia, Society Lounge, Pickwick and Frolic and The Corner Alley. Don't forget to stop in Cleveland Clothing Co. to get some Cleveland themed merch!!
After walking down East 4th, take a short stroll down Prospect Ave and be sure to hit up the best tacos in Cleveland. Barrio Tacos is a must stop for Meg and Scott anytime they're having a night out in Cleveland.
Located down the street from Barrio, this is another great brewery to hit up in Cleveland.
Located half mile down the road from the Hilton Downtown, this is Meg + Scott's favorite Brewery in Cleveland. Be sure to try their award winning Evil Motives IPA alongside some chips + dip, or if you're really hungry, Scott (obviously) recommends the nachos.
Rising Star Coffee is a great option for your morning coffee or an afternoon pick me up! There are a few different locations, but if you are exploring downtown by foot and want to check out Cleveland's historic Arcade building, be sure to grab some coffee inside the Arcade from Rising Star.
Looking to get a few miles in before the celebrations? Look no further than the Towpath Trail located in the beautiful neighborhood of Tremont. You may just see the bride logging a few miles as well!
Cleveland is also known for its beautiful Metroparks. Edgewater Park is located 10 mins west of downtown and offers beautiful views of Lake Erie. Pack a picnic and soak up some rays on Edgewater Beach.
Yes! There is a National Park in Cleveland! If you get in town a little early and find yourself with some time on your hands, head down to Cuyahoga Valley National Park! It’s just a short drive away and offers a beautiful escape into Ohio’s rolling hills and forests.
