I'm sure a lot of you have heard this story from me a million times, but here it goes again! We met freshmen year of high school in 2004 at St. Thomas Aquinas. My friend came up to me in the hallway one day and gave me a gum wrapper with Max's screenname on it (it was maxey19 in case anyone was wondering). We used to "beep beep" each other in the hallway with our Nextel phones. Sophomore year we chatted online a lot. Junior year, we went to Cotillion together. Max even cut off his arm cast early, just for me to ditch him and not dance with him all night. I was the worst date ever so...he left me there and we didn't speak for about a year. Fast forward to 2007 senior year...our groups of friends merged...and the rest is history.
Since we've been together so long, I'm not gonna lie, I sort of had some feelings that it was going to happen. But I was still SO shocked at the same time. We had a dinner planned with my sister and her boyfriend, so we met them at their hotel on the beach for dinner. There was supposed to be a meteor shower that night, so we walked across the street to the beach after dinner to try and check it out. I was complaining about how cold it was and the fact that I couldn't see any meteors - and I wanted to leave. Little did I know, (while Max's heart was pounding out of his chest) he was trying to start the mushy talk and propose! It was the most perfect night I could have ever imagined, and so awesome that my sister's boyfriend is an amazing photographer and was able to capture the special moment for us.
