Colin read Meg's short story collection "Big Girl" and made it a staff pick at The Strand in NYC, where he was a manager. Tagging her on Instagram, he got her attention and her gratitude with this lovely gesture. Sliding into DMs, they got to talking. When Meg moved to the East Coast, they agreed that they should meet face to face. At a gallery opening, they got to talk art and make those significant glances and one memorable grazing of fingertips. Two years of museums and concerts and quiet dinners later, the two moved in together in Brooklyn to start building a life. Colin proposed in August 2024 with an heirloom ring that had belonged to his grandmother as their train crossed the Manhattan Bridge. Meg joyfully accepted.
