Bar Harbor, Maine is located on Mount Desert Island, home to Acadia National Park. All guests are invited to the weekend events. We encourage guests to arrive in Bar Harbor by Thursday, July 4th. We'll be planning celebrations throughout the week! We recommend staying in the immediate downtown area since Uber is limited. You might want to consider having car access to explore the island. There's public transportation from Bar Harbor to various hiking trails around Acadia National Park. Since Bar Harbor is a very popular Fourth of July destination, please reserve flights and accommodations at your earliest convenience!

Bangor Airport (BGR)

The Bangor Airport is a one-hour drive to Bar Harbor. There are no direct flights to Bangor from Atlanta, but you can find connections through major airports including New York (LaGuardia), Newark, DC (Reagan), and Philadelphia.

Bar Harbor Airport (BHB)

The Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport is a small airport located in Trenton, Maine. It's 7-10 minutes from Bar Harbor. The airport is smaller and typically only offers commercial flights to / from Boston.

Portland International Jetport (PWM)

This is the largest airport in Maine. It's a three-hour drive from Bar Harbor, so we encourage guests to rent a car from the Portland airport and drive to Bar Harbor from there.

Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)

The Boston airport is a four to five hour drive to Bar Harbor. This option may be ideal if you decide to extend your stay for a longer vacation or if you'd like to enjoy Boston for a couple days on the front-end or back-end of your trip.

Travel from Bangor to Bar Harbor

Rental cars are available at Bangor International Airport. Please book in advance as July is very busy! Alternatively, we recommend arranging a car service, uber, or shuttle in advance. Please visit the link below for a list of options.
