Question

What is a traditional New Orleans style reception and what should I expect?

Answer

New Orleans is known for ‘reception style’ weddings, almost like cocktail parties with food stations and heavy appetizers. The room will be set up to encourage dancing and mingling. In short, expect a twist on traditional New Orleans cuisine and a strong emphasis on partying.

Question

Can I bring my child(ren)?

Answer

While we love your family, our wedding festivities have been reserved for those ages 21 years and older. Children will not be accommodated. Thank you for your understanding.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Unless your invitation explicitly says “and Guest,” your RSVP does not include a date. Our venue has provided strict guidelines on venue capacity / guest count and we won’t be able to accommodate uninvited guests.

Question

What’s the dress code?

Answer

We hope our wedding will be a fun excuse to wear your favorite cocktail attire! And don’t forget to wear your dancing shoes! Please ask us if you have any questions regarding your outfit of choice.

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We will be having an "unplugged" ceremony, which means no technology devices should be used during the ceremony. We have hired a wonderful photographer and videographer who will share their work with you at a later date. But, during the reception and all other events, feel free to snap away!

Question

If I'm traveling from out of town, when do I need to arrive in New Orleans?

Answer

Our wedding ceremony will be in the late afternoon on Saturday, September 21st (the exact time will be noted in the formal invitation). To be safe, we'd suggest you plan to arrive in New Orleans on Friday, September 20th.

Question

Are room blocks reserved for wedding guests?

Answer

Visit the Travel and Accommodations page to learn more about hotel blocks. Book early, as sporting events and festivals can severely limits hotel availability closer to our big day. If hotels are not your thing, there are a ton of great AirBnB options around the city as well.

Question

How far is the ceremony from the reception location?

Answer

The church is a 35 minute drive from the reception location. We'll provide more information regarding transportation in the months to come.

Question

What will parking be like?

Answer

While the reception venue has plenty of parking for guests, the church where our ceremony will take place has more limited parking options. We suggest carpooling or rideshare options.
