Why are the ceremony and reception in different towns?

Answer

We want to have a very intimate ceremony in a spot that has a special significance to us, but we don't want to ask everyone to travel that far. We picked Fort Wayne as our reception city because its almost halfway between our two families.

Question

Am I supposed to travel to both events?

Answer

We are only asking most of our guests to travel to the Fort Wayne reception. We understand that Petoskey, MI is a long way away from most of our guests, so we are only asking our bridal party, parents and Northern Michigan family to come to the ceremony.
