Our recommendation is that you fly to Queenstown Airport. The venue is an 1 hour and 10 minute drive from the airport. We suggest that you stay locally around the venue in the Wanaka / Lake Hawea / Albert Town region and arrive at the latest, the day before the wedding. The usual mode of transportation around New Zealand is hiring a car, so we recommend hiring a car near Queenstown Airport (which we will also be doing!). This will make boarding your flight back home convenient when dropping off the hire car near the airport.
Given the day of the wedding would be hectic, it may not be sufficient to really maximise our time together. In saying this, we will be doing the Lake Hayes Loop Track in the morning at 10am - 12pm on Tuesday (23 September 2025). Between 27 September - 30 September, we will be galavanting in the snowy mountains for snow activities. All of the activities above are all optional and everyone is welcome to pass or join in during this time, with further details in the 'schedule tab' of our website. After the snowy mountains activities, that is when both of us will be running off on our own mini honeymoon private adventures as husband and wife!
Yes, you will need a valid international passport to travel to New Zealand. If you do not have a passport, please make sure you allow enough time for the Australian Passport Office to process your application and issue your new passport. The last thing we would want is for you to pay any urgent fees or miss out!
Just like Australia, September is the start of Spring! However, don't be fooled, New Zealand spring is slightly different and may not be as warm as you think. The average during the day is 15 degrees, with night time reaching as low as 4 degrees.
Unfortunately, no one will be able to park their vehicle at the venue. There are strict policies as the venue is located in a secluded cliff side area with a difficult access road and limited parking that is reserved for vendors. To combat this, we will be organising transportation for our guests to and from their accomodation (please refer to the question regarding Yello transportation).
No, you will not be able to smoke as there are strict policies surrounding smoking. Please be mindful that if we do not adhere to the strict policies, we may lose our bond!
Yello transportation is only organised for arrival at the venue at 11:00am and departure after the reception finishes at approximately 10:45pm. Please let us know in advance if you do need to leave for whatever reason and we can work something out. Please note that there will be space available at the venue for you to put your belongings, do any touch-ups or if you need a space for an outfit change!
For the brittled boned people, do not fear! Diesel heaters will be set up, wooly blankets will be available and an open fire pit will be crackling (subject to fire bans lol).
Yello is the only transportation company equipped and permitted to use the access road to the venue, as it is steeped and requires AWD vehicles. For those who are staying in the vicinity of the venue (10 - 15 minute radius), we will be organising transportation that will pick you up from your accomodation. If you are not in the catchment area, we might ask that you meet at a central spot for Yello to pick you up. Yello will also return when the reception finishes to drop off everyone to their respective accomodation and, or central spot. Closer to the date, we will reach out to everyone for details of their accomodation and finalise the logistics.
Think elevated semi-formal - faux fur shawls, your finest gloves, coats, velvet, jacquard, brocade, chic suiting (men and women!), silks, cashmere, leather, sparkles! Need help with colours - espresso brown, burgundy, chartreuse, pinks. No obligations, only mere suggestions. P.S. Please be mindful we will be outdoors so feel free to wear cute boots, wedges, block heels or flats as your gorgeous stilettos might sink in the ground!
Due to the limited capacity of the venue, we have curated an intimate list of our nearest and dearest. As such, for those with a guest explicitly listed may bring a guest.
We love your children, but due to the space restrictions we cannot accommodate guests under 10 years old on our wedding day.
Nibbles, tea and coffee will be served throughout the day, along with an open bar for cocktail hour. Please let us know of any dietaries or allergies that we can accommodate for you.
