Tips Prior to Traveling

• Although we can't predict what the travel restrictions will be in July 2022, it is highly advised, if not mandatory, to be fully vaccinated (boosters included) against COVID-19 at least two weeks prior to arrival. Being vaccinated is the best way to protect yourself, to protect others, and to safely enjoy your time in France.🙂 • Ensure all members of your party have a valid passport to enter France. • Confirm that your passport is valid for the travel date and that you have a minimum of one empty page for the stamps by customs to enter and exit the country. IMPORTANT: For the majority of countries, it is required to have six months validity before your passport expiration date. • Depending on your service and terms, you may need to notify your credit card(s), cell phone, and car insurance companies about international trips. • Finally, save the dates for our wedding--July 9-10, 2022--in your calendar and plan your vacation accordingly! Request that PTO as soon as possible!😉

Available Airports

The closest airports to the wedding venue—Château des Bidaudières in Vouvray, France—are Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) and Paris Orly Airport (ORY). Both are international airports that offer service by a wide range of airlines from all over the world. ORY is the closest to the City of Paris and is a smaller more efficient airport. CDG has more flight options as it is the largest international airport in France and one of the busiest airports in Europe. Tip for all travelers: Set up a "Google Flights" alert: https://www.google.com/travel/flights. Tip for American travelers: If you book far enough in advance, flights to Paris are usually quite reasonable. However, if you're finding that that's not the case from your location, we recommend looking into doing a quick stop into New York City, and from there, flying to Paris. This has been helpful for us in the past, and a little time in NYC is always fun!

Venturing to Vouvray

How to reach Vouvray: 🚄HIGH-SPEED TRAIN: *RECOMMENDED* From Gare Montparnasse (lots of options) OR Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport (less options), it's a little over an hour ride via TGV InOUI, to Saint Pierre des Corps Gare. You can rent a car and pick it up directly at the train station. We advise to book it online prior to arrival. Additionally, most European vehicles are standard stick shift, so indicate if you prefer automatic when booking. OR, you can hail a ride to reach your hotel. 🚘CAR: From Paris, it's a 2h & 30 min drive to Vouvray. You can rent a car and pick it up directly at the airport. We advise to book it online prior to arrival. Additionally, most European vehicles are standard stick shift, so indicate if you prefer automatic when booking. *It is preferred to have at least one vehicle in your party as Vouvray is in the Loire Valley, and you'll want to bop around to check out the stunning châteaux, famed wine, troglodyte caves, and vibrant culture. Lots to see!*
