CIBC Theatre
HAMILTON has been extended at the CIBC Theatre through January 2019! If you are a fan of Broadway, rap, the revolutionary war, creative historical costumery, or impeccable storytelling, we strongly recommend that you seek tickets for this famous show. Kyle and Jennifer both gave it two thumbs up!
Lincoln Park Zoo Lights
Lincoln Park Zoo Lights' festive activities include musical light shows, live ice sculpture demos, holiday drinks and snacks, photos with Santa! Also, be sure to seek out the carousel, train and Ferris wheel rides! Jennifer and Kyle have visited this fun outdoor event almost every year. Make sure to bring a warm coat, hat, and gloves!
Christkindlmarket Chicago
This is a wondrous, idyllic Christmas market located less than a mile from the hotel! Be sure to try the Glühwein (a warm mulled wine) and look for the famous hand-carved wooden ornaments! While working at her first downtown job, Jennifer used to come here during her lunch breaks to hunt for one-of-a-kind Christmas presents.
The Art Institute of Chicago
The Art Institute of Chicago is a must-see for everyone, but it has a special place in Jennifer's heart. She has visited this museum throughout her life, as a baby, a girl scout, a student, and an adult. One of Jennifer and Kyle's first Chicago dates was a visit to this museum! Jennifer especially recommends the Thorne Miniature Rooms, which she insists should be called "The Dollhouse Exhibit".
Bavette's Bar & Boeuf
This is one of our most favorite places to splurge for a special occasion -- Kyle recommends the dry-aged rib-eye, and Jennifer wants to insist that you don't skip the béarnaise!
The Milk Room
Milk Room, located on the second floor of the Chicago Athletic Association, is an exclusive, eight-seat micro bar focusing on classic, spirit-forward cocktails that utilize extremely rare, vintage spirits and hard to find ingredients. Jennifer and Kyle have visited this location many times, often with friends and family in tow! Try the red sangria -- it is delicious!
