How We Met

Love at Right Swipe

We matched on a dating app, got together to enjoy a ginger beer—and then time just flew! What began as a swipe right turned into easy conversation, shared adventures, and a love we can’t wait to celebrate.

About The Venue: The Toledo Club

Where Timeless Walls Witness Forever Vows

If you love history, this building is classic Toledo grandeur. Chances are, the roads on your daily commute are named for the very families who helped build it — Libbey (glass), Willys (Jeep), Owens (Owens Corning), and more. The Toledo Club began in 1882 as the Draconian Club, founded by newspaper publisher David Ross Locke and a group of Toledo’s early power players. It became The Toledo Club in 1889 and, by 1915, moved into the five-story Georgian Revival clubhouse on Madison and 14th, built of Harvard brick and Indiana limestone. Over the years, it’s hosted major business deals, secret Prohibition-era sips, and even U.S. presidents — including McKinley, both Roosevelts, Taft, Harding, and Hoover. Once a men-only space, the Main Dining Room opened to women in 1920. And now, all that history gets to be the backdrop for our “I do.”
