We knew each other existed long before we officially met having gone to the same school since kindergarten. We officially met in March 2010 during high school track and field. Our first official date was at a "12 Hour Dance" on April 1st, 2010 - we were smitten! We officially started dating on April 3rd, 2010, in a treehouse of all places.

After many months of Marissa dropping hints after almost 6 years of dating, John popped the question! We took a weekend trip to the finger lakes in New York. On April 2nd, 2016, after a fun afternoon of wine touring, we stopped for lunch in a park at the top of Seneca Lake. It was FREEZING! But, it was beautiful. John gave a super sweet speech, got down on one knee, & the rest is history! We celebrated at our favorite restaurant, The Melting Pot.
