Aiden and I (Lyric) first met in high school and started out as just friends. Aiden, a new student, became fast friends with my cousin, and one weekend the two of us went to the fair together. I invited him and his mother to church the following Sunday, and from there, our friendship started to grow. We would always end up on FaceTime together after school, usually with one of my close high school friends. We’d laugh, talk for hours, and it just always felt easy—natural. Even back then, I knew there was something different about him. From the first day I met Aiden, I felt a connection that I couldn’t quite explain. After graduation, life took us down different paths. But over time, God guided us through our own personal journeys, and in His perfect timing, brought us back together. In those years apart, I went through some really difficult times. After getting pregnant and having Major, I was coming out of a tough situation and learning how to navigate life as a new mom. I isolated myself for a while, spending quiet time with God and working on healing and rediscovering who I was. I finally got to a place where I felt peace and contentment being on my own. I knew that if I was ever going to let someone into my life again, they would have to not only love me, but fully embrace Major as well. Then one day, I came across Aiden’s Instagram story—it was a sweet video of him and his son, Arlo. I messaged him, “Aww, he is so cute!” and from there, the conversation flowed like no time had passed. Just like that, we picked up right where we left off—more than four years later. Through all the twists and turns, our hearts found their way back—stronger, wiser, and more certain than ever. Since then, our love has been a beautiful reminder that everything truly does happen for a reason. Each day, we continue to grow together in faith, love, and joy. We are beyond blessed to be starting this next chapter of our lives hand in hand, with hearts full of gratitude and excitement for what’s to come.
