Wellington International Airport

Our international guests will likely fly into Auckland, and then on to Wellington from there. Flight time from Auckland is approximately 1 hour and flights are available from Auckland to Wellington several times a day.

Accommodation

Sudbury is a 1-hour drive from Wellington city. So you can relax and enjoy the day, we highly recommend booking accommodation close to the venue. Towns close by to use as search terms include: Waikanae Beach, Peka Peka, Otaki Beach. Train

Kapiti Line

If you will not have access to a car for the wedding weekend, you can take the train from Wellington city station to Waikanae via. the Kapiti train line. The train ride from Wellington to Waikanae takes approximately one hour and you can taxi to your accommodation from there.

Travel Note

Getting to and from the venue

We highly recommend booking taxis/shuttle vans in advance to get you to and from the venue. The venue will close at 12am sharp, and we'd hate to see you waiting out in the cold at the end of the night for a taxi! If you do decide to drive, there are plenty of carparks located on site. You are welcome to drive to the venue, taxi home, and pick your car up the following day, but please note that the venue will only be open between 9am & 10am Sunday, so you will need to be back at the venue between these times to collect your car. If you are staying in either Peka Peka or Waikanae beach and would be interested in a group shuttle to get you to and from the venue, please contact us (meetthecawkwells@gmail.com) by March 31st with the number of people in your group & the address of your accommodation.
