Meg and Chris’ journey began long before they knew it. They went to high school together, even sharing a class in tenth grade, but were never more than classmates—though Chris admired Meg from afar. In 2017, he reached out, curious about her job at the dog kennel, asking, “How do you work with all these dogs?” But life took them in different directions—Chris pursued his Marine Corps career, and Meg focused on college. Fast forward to 2020. Chris saw Meg was single and didn’t waste any time. He reached out in early June, asking for dog training advice, and soon invited her for a drink. Their first date was on June 25th at Rust & Gold in Huntington Village, where they bonded over margaritas, their love of animals, and Halloween—talking so long that the restaurant had to ask them to leave because they were closing. In February 2022, Chris and Meg moved into their first apartment together in the city, just a few blocks from their best friends, Brian and Kait. Chris began his career with the FDNY, and Meg continued working in marketing and advertising, with some pet-sitting on the side. On May 26, 2024, during a breathtaking hike in Glacier National Park, Montana, Chris got down on one knee by Lake McDonald and asked Meg to marry him. And the rest, as they say, is history!
