FAQ

The Wedding Website of Marissa Giers and Mitch Peters
We're so excited to celebrate with you! Please see answers to common questions below, and if you have any other specific concerns, do not hesitate to ask us via email at marissa.mitch.planz@gmail.com.
Question

Where is the wedding?

Answer

All of the night's events will be at The Capitol Room 419 South Minnesota Avenue, Saint Peter, MN This is an indoor venue, with the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all in the same building.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

We would like for you to be at the venue at or before 4:00pm sharp. Please note that if you're late, you may be asked to wait to be seated until after the processional.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is cocktail attire (or fancier if you feel like it!), including suits/dress shirts/slacks for men and dresses/suits/jumpsuits for women. While we want you to be comfortable and ready to dance, please avoid wearing jeans or tennis shoes.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We are at capacity with our venue which means we are sadly unable to accommodate additional guests. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. If you have any questions, please reach out.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, we’ve chosen to limit our guest list to eighteen-year-olds and over, and we hope you understand.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes, please indicate any food allergies or dietary restrictions that you have when RSVP'ing so that we can communicate these with our caterer.

Question

Are there any recommended places to stay?

Answer

Please see the "Travel" page on our website for information about our hotel blocks. There are also many other hotels in and around the Mankato area to choose from.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes! We want you to both have a great time and be safe, so we would love for you to take our provided transportation to and from the venue. Shuttle service will leave from the Mankato Courtyard by Marriott and the Mankato Country Inn & Suites at 3:15pm. See the "Schedule" page on the website for more details. You do not need to be staying at one of the hotels listed to use the service, but they will be the pick-up and drop-off points. Please indicate on your RSVP whether or not you plan to use the provided transportation.

Question

Is there parking available at the venue?

Answer

Limited street parking is available around the whole perimeter of the 400 block of Minnesota Avenue. About 20 spots are also available on the adjacent 500 block of Minnesota Avenue (across Mulberry Street) in the Blue Earth County Government building lot, after 5pm on weekdays and all day Saturday and Sunday. There is also a large city lot on Front Street with around 80 spots. See parking map at capitolroom.com/parking. City lots and streets are enforced by public safety to allow parking for no more than 24 hours at a time, unless otherwise specified by posted signs. Please abide by posted signs as to not be inconvenienced by tickets or towing. Alternatively, feel free take our provided transportation to and from the venue! If you choose to drive to the venue and take the shuttle home, please have a plan in place to retrieve your vehicle on Sunday morning.

Question

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding?

Answer

We love photos! We do ask that you refrain from taking photos during the ceremony, as we’d like that time to be unplugged. After the ceremony, feel free to snap and share!

Question

Are you registered? Where should we send our gift?

Answer

Please see our "Registry" webpage for all of our registry details. If you don't want to bring a physical item with you, gifts can be sent to our home, 825 22nd St SE, Owatonna, MN 55060.

Question

What kind of food will there be? Is there an open bar?

Answer

During the cocktail hour, there will light appetizers and an open bar. Dinner will be a barbecue buffet (Mitch's favorite!), of course followed by dessert. Beer, wine, our signature cocktail, and a cash bar will be available during the reception.
